The other day I was watching Curious George movie with Johnny and Princess. There is a part in the movie where George ventures into this white apartment of an opera singer who left cans of paint open in the middle of her living room. George can’t resist checking out the beautiful colors and begins to mix them, play and then paint all over the white walls. He hears singing in another room and ventures in to take a closer look. A bath tub filled with lots of big bubbles just beckoning George to come over and play. He no sooner does when he gets an idea that pouring paint into the bathtub would be a lot of fun. Especially if you can watch the bubbles change color and see what happens to the water when you pour paint in it. George has completely missed that there is a lady in the bubble bath.
Johnny is Curious George. He investigates everything and anything and is not satisfied with simple answers. I asked Johnny if he would leave the buckets of paint alone or would he be tempted to play with the paint like George. He looked over at me with a mischievous grin and said “paint Mommy.” I know that something has changed when I can write on my blog that faced with playing with all the paint and bubbles he would notice the woman in the tub too before she notices him.
