The One With The Bees….

One of Johnny’s favourite cartoon movies to watch is a collection of  Winnie the Pooh classics.  His absolute favourite scene is when Winnie is obsessed with getting honey out of the bee hive and develops plan to get up and into the honey tree.

“I want to watch the one with the bees!”

Winnie rolls around in the mud to cover himself and borrows Christopher Robin’s blue balloon to float up to where the bee hive is.  Johnny will get so excited and watch Winnie’s plan unfold intently and then laughs and laughs.

“I want to be a bee.”

“I want some honey.”

Winnie sings “I’m just a little black rain cloud” as he hopes to fool all the honey bees so he can get the honey.  I only life was so simple.

Here is what Johnny wanted to share with us after watching his favourite scene that he’s seen since he was around 2 years old.

P.S. Did I mention that the first time Johnny had a true big belly laugh was when he was 8 weeks old and Daddy had returned from a business trip. We brought out the Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal Grandma gave him and the big baby laughs began.

  1. I’m always fascinated by the backstory of Johnny’s drawings. I love the one with the black clouds.

Thanks! I am intrigued every time he sits down to draw or paint. Is it going to be just a sensory fun time with colour etc or is it going to be an attempt at representational? What is hard is seeing him struggle with fine motor and getting the picture he wants and me as Mom not diving in and instead letting it happen. I’ve decided to try and calm him down etc and use other moments to help him with his hand skills and just enjoy his creative side.
